Solar Television Network, Inc. was founded on November 29, 2009. The new network is headed by William Tieng as Chairman and President, Wilson Tieng as Board Member, and Peter Chanliong as Chief Executive Officer.

Its carrier channel, SOLARtv, seeks to offer free TV viewers with an upscale blend of hit international shows: reality, sitcoms, game shows and choice dynamic series. SOLARtv caters to the aspirational tastes of all age groups and social segments, from yuppies, young families and even the ever-increasing segment of BPO employees. It is the prime destination for upscale fun and entertainment to a broad audience.
